Ride:- 268/269.                        26/27 May 2007.Location:- Khao Yai Grand View Thani Hotel.Hares:- Joris Laperre and Paul HainesScribe:- Craig "Laurence" MillsThe weekend of 26 & 27th May was the Bangkok Hash's 268-269th rides and what a splendid ride it was. I had often heard from other riders what a great part of Thailand, Khao Yai was for cycling and I think this weekend showed the reason why.The ride started off at the fine digs of Khao Yai Grand View Hotel on Saturday afternoon with some 100 odd cyclists turning up for a pedal on Saturday afternoon. Saturdays ride certainly had a bit for everyone offering tranquil lakes, excellent single-tracks, some sections of water and mud to get one's feet and bike dirty, a Chinese cemetery and for those like myself who are a bit of a slow coach charlie on the bike some lovely lookouts in which one was able to soak in the Thai countryside that Khao Yai that was on offer. Paul & Joris did a commendable job of offering not one but two water stops and the water stop next to the lake was certainly a great place to take in some of the trail that we had just ridden. The Sunday ride was another great ride and while we went teasingly close to entering the National Park the rain from the previous night made the ride on Sunday a bit muckier and muddier than the previous day. Kudos to Paul & Joris for including on the ride some cattle for Serge the Bovine Bonker to include once again in some of his photos!Joris & Paul thanks for organising an excellent Bike Hash ... to me it was a good balance between offering something challenging for those more confident on the bike to those (such as myself) who like to stop and smell the flowers.Well Done!Laurence
